Testimonials
Our daughter's self-confidence has grown tremendously. She can stand up in front of her class in school and give an oral report of a high calibre. At one time, that would have been very difficult for her. She's been chosen by her teacher to do independent studies. We don't think she could have done that without what she'd learned in the Leadership Programme.

Kickboxing

Kickboxing

Knowing that self-protection and fighting are totally different situations, our Kickboxing curriculum teaches our students techniques used in all ranges of realistic stand-up fighting while getting them in the best shape of their lives.

The true roots of Kickboxing can be found to date back 2000 years ago in Far East Asia, where Muay Thai was commonly practiced as a self-defence discipline. However it gradually became more of a sport over the years. Thai boxing soon became the most common and popular fighting sport in Asia.

What is called Kickboxing today comes from Full Contact Karate competitions held in the sixties. Competitors included fighters like Bill Wallace, Joe Lewis and Benny the Jet. Each fighter had a varied background either through the various styles of Karate, boxing as well as other martial arts. Fighting styles, techniques and strategies developed out of the need for a comprehensive form of fighting that was effective in the ring. Kickboxing is a Western fighting method practiced worldwide with the Kickboxer using both hands and feet, as in Karate. Because it is a realistic, practical method of fighting, it has grown into a popular sport

Kickboxing combines elements from Karate, Taekwondo and Thai Boxing: both the strategy and techniques from kicking and boxing. It mixes foot techniques from Karate & Taekwondo and fist techniques from traditional boxing. There are various types of combat competitions:

While Kickboxing was first developed as a martial art for tournament fighting, it has more recently become very popular, because the Kickboxing workout this is excellent for developing body toning and burning fat while also helping students gain confidence in self defence.

By combining these realistic and effective systems of the martial arts a student will be better able to defend themselves in any situation they may conceivably find themselves. Where most systems of martial arts focus mainly on one area of technique, our mixed martial arts approach allows us to train a well rounded student of self-protection.
