In the opening bout of the UFC 101 broadcast, Premier Fighter Kurt Pellegrino defeated Josh Neer by unanimous decision.
In the first round, Pellegrino opened with a dramatic slam but quickly found himself stymied in Neer's guard. Neer threatened armbars, triangle chokes and leg locks as Pellegrino worked to pass guard.
In the 2nd round, both fighters came out striking before Pellegrino shot in for a take down. The second round then quickly became a replay of the first with Batman working to pass guard and Neer threatening submissions from his back. With one minute left, Pellegrino capitalized on a failed kimura attempt to pass to full mount. Quickly taking Neer's back, he worked for a rear naked choke. But time ran out.
In the final round, Pellegrino only needed 0:30 to put Neer on his back. Neer threatened with an omaplata to no avail. The Philly crowd cheered as Pellegrino dropped hammer fists and elbows and avoided submission attempts. With less than 0:45 left, Neer managed to reverse position but it was too little too late, despite battering Pellegrino with brutal elbows and leaving his opponent bloody.

How many of us have wasted valuable time and money on diets and gym memberships over the years?
After an initial consultation, I will use this principle to tailor a fitness or martial arts programme that suits you.
You can even share the session and share the cost!

PMA London student Danni Collins (right) looks angelic on the cover of this Top 10 book, but don’t be fooled Danni takes her junior black belt in December....
Premier Martial Arts Fighter, Kurt Pellegrino will look to string together consecutive wins for the first time in more than a year. “Batman” is coming off a solid unanimous decision win over Thiago Tavares at UFC 88: “Breakthrough” back in September.
He has flirted with being recognized as a top competitor in a very crowded division on numerous occasions throughout his career; however, he has been plagued by inconsistency in recent bouts. Pellegrino can get back in the thick of things in 2009 with an early win to start the year over a surging Emerson.
Grand Master Helio Gracie has passed away
At 95 years of age, the great icon and one of those most responsible for Jiu-Jitsu’s success in Brazil and the world died this morning, at home, in the district of Itaipava, in the mountain region of Rio de Janeiro.

Master Foran and Premier Martial Arts London have had many opportunities to serve the local community. After working with a former local policeman and a childcare teacher for many months Master Foran devised a Character Education Programme that would help children make better decisions for their futures.
Unlike other martial arts clubs, who 'hope' kids become more confident through training, Premier London actually teach leadership life skills to kids and adults on a weekly basis.
Master Foran & Martial Arts Premier London are proud to receive a Commendation Award from the local community for working with bullied children and their families.
PMA London are in the new NME Award Winning Band, Glas Vegas' music video for Daddy's Gone.
